My Bubbie, Rose, has always been a devout Jew. She keeps strict Kosher and gave my dad a really hard time when he stopped going to Shul when he was 18. We’re reform now, but Bubbie still keeps Shabbat and Kosher just like her mother did after she escaped from Germany. Because of this, my Bubbie never travelled like my dad did. She always lived in New York, and only went to Israel once, and to Poland another time to see the camps.

But last year everything changed. My Bubbie is only in her fifties, she’s really young, and she found this great Jewish vacation to the Maya Ruins! This year she’s going to South Africa for Safari and taking me with her! She can keep Kosher and Shabbat, and still see the world!
