When my husband hired a Valencia pool builder to build us a pool in the backyard, I had one rule. He really had to think about the design more than the functionality. I know this sounds backward, but I love landscaping my backyard. I have flowers everywhere, unique bushes and trees, and themes running the entire length of the fence. With a pool in the middle of the backyard, I needed to be able to have flowers around it, trees that wouldn’t drop leaves into it, and an architectural design that wouldn’t seem ugly in a backyard of beautiful things. I needed a lovely design, so that was the pool builder’s task.
