There are so many different furniture stores out there with very conventional-looking merchandise. What really bugs me is when a store really thinks it’s doing something different with modular this, modular that, and the furniture makes your room look just like everyone else’s. My idea of a alphaville design store is one that helps me to redefine my living space and think differently about it. One that emphasizes whimsy, creativity and encourages me to use my home as a form of artistic expression. For this reason, I really love Italian contemporary furniture stores. They lend me the permission to be myself and cut loose from what everybody else happens to be doing.
