One of the more interesting customs that has been passed down from generation to generation is that of naming an individual and them having a particular day of the year. This was at one time a religious celebration but it is no longer really considered to be religious in nature, although some of the names are associated with a particular religion. Whenever this time of the year comes for some individuals, they may receive naming Day cards on the day as a gift from people in their family or perhaps friends. Not everybody, however, associates themselves with this particular tradition.
